Objective

To offer Heartfulness Meditation to seekers who are cancer patients. This is not a special program that cures cancer with Yogic Transmission. We offer only focused support to cancer patients via Heartfulness (Sahaj Marg). Using the tools (Relaxation, Meditation, Cleaning) and Transmission, patients are enabled to find their own inner strength during this challenging period.

Etiquette and Confidentiality

Always wait for the patient to open up and share their challenges. Do not probe the patient about their type of cancer, treatment or results. The patient's condition is confidential and their privacy must always be protected. Do not speak about their diagnosis, treatment, sittings with any other preceptor (trainer) or abhyasi. The same laws governing data confidentiality and privacy apply here.

The uniqueness of this program is that we

  • Adapt the practice to the rhythm of the patient.
  • The patient can lie down and take sittings.
  • Trainers support the patients and their families by going to their homes or treatment center.
  • Techniques given by Daaji with focus on cancer patients.
  • We hope that all volunteer trainers will always exercise empathy and compassion while serving the patients with love and affection. A patient's anxiety is very real and large, varying from constant worry about their own mortality, concern for their dependents, financial stability etc.
  • Please do not talk about cure, miracles and do not give any medical advice.
  • The program is offered as a service to the patients and their family without any fees.

Origin of the Program

In response to a need for supporting cancer patients by a group of oncologists at the Global Hospital, Chennai. Daaji suggested the following:

…and with further guidance, step by step, the CARE Program was built.

As of April 2019, Daaji has continued to hold that he wants the program to remain small and quiet allowing the ripple effect to do its work.

For all countries other than India (referred to as 'Rest of the World' – ROW), the program has been renamed as 'Heartfulness Meditation Support for Patients and Families'. This title ensures that our program intent and offerings are very clear globally.

For India, it will continue to be called 'Heartfulness CARE'.
